NJC’s Fundraising for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust

At NJC we take pride in our community as much as we take pride in our cleaning. Alongside our day-to-day work providing reliable cleaning services across the UK, we have also dedicated time this year to fundraising for charity. Our team took part in and organised two cycling challenges in aid of the Cystic Fibrosis Trust, raising an outstanding £3,414 so far.

These events are especially meaningful to us, as two of our colleagues, Mark Robinson and Gary Duplock, have personal connections to cystic fibrosis. Mark’s son, Ethan, lives with the condition, and one of Gary’s closest childhood friends, DJ, is also affected. Their experiences give us a deep appreciation of the importance of research and support, and at NJC we are proud to contribute to this cause.

London to Brighton Ride

On 14 September, NJC colleagues took part in the iconic London to Brighton cycle. Starting in the capital, they completed the 55-mile journey to the south coast with the backing of clients, friends and family.

Our fundraising target was £1,000. Thanks to the generosity of donors, the team raised £3,114, more than tripling the goal.

Our riders included:

We are so proud of their efforts, the training and planning that went into the ride, and the commitment shown on the day. Well done team!

Tour de Victoria at the Zig Zag Building

On 2 October, NJC recreated the London to Brighton challenge indoors with the Tour de Victoria. Stationary bikes were installed in the reception of the Zig Zag Building, 70 Victoria Street, and tenants, colleagues and visitors were invited to cycle part of the route.

A huge thank you goes to both Landsec, who provided the venue, and Johnson Health Tech, who supplied the bikes, without whom the event would not have been possible. Together, participants covered 245 miles over the day.

Words of Support

We wanted to take this opportunity to thank all our colleagues who have taken part in the event and the generosity of our clients, partners and friends who have shown support through donations, words of support and encouragement. We are grateful not only for the donations but also for the encouragement shared on our JustGiving page. These messages kept spirits high and reminded us of the wider community standing behind the cause.

Overall Impact

Together, the two events raised more than £3,400 for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust. We are grateful to everyone who took part, donated or supported these events. These activities demonstrate how NJC’s values extend beyond our work in commercial cleaning across London, helping us contribute to wider social causes and strengthen our culture, and are an important part of how we operate and of the positive impact we aim to deliver, both in the buildings we maintain and in the communities we work within.
