Each month, NJC’s Gratitude Awards recognise our colleagues who have been noticed for the way they go about their work on site. These nominations come directly from site contacts and client teams, and reflect where someone’s professionalism, care or consistency has stood out.
January’s awards highlight a mix of care and professionalism from colleagues working across commercial office environments, and recognise both the everyday standards that matter on site and the moments where someone has gone above and beyond.
Cleaning Operative and Specialist & Vertical Operative, Reading
Anna and Lee were recognised following feedback from a site contact at a commercial office environment in Reading. Multiple people working in the building commented on the high standard of cleaning across shared core areas and internal windows, and the positive impression this created day today.
The feedback came at an important time, with a new contract due to begin and prospective clients present on site. Both Anna’s work in maintaining core areas and Lee’s internal window cleaning were specifically mentioned as standing out and helping set the right tone from the outset.
Thank you both for the pride you take in your work and the consistency you bring to site. The standards you set make a real difference, particularly at key moments like this.

Cristina was recognised by a client team for her consistently high standards and positive approach on site. She was described as polite, reliable and easy to work with, delivering her work on time and to a high standard without issue.
This feedback reflects the importance of consistency and professionalism in maintaining strong working relationships within busy commercial environments.

Cleaning Operative, Reading
Katrina was nominated following an incident on site where a young person, visibly distressed, cold and unwell, entered the building. While carrying out her duties, Katrina took time to help calm the situation, offered her own gloves to keep the individual warm, and remained supportive while arrangements were made to get appropriate help.
Katrina has also been highlighted for her day-to-day presence on site. She is described as friendly, approachable and well liked by everyone in the building, including teams outside of her immediate cleaning responsibilities.

Raul received positive feedback from a client team for the attitude and commitment he has shown since joining the site. He was recognised for his willingness to learn, his positive approach to work, and for stepping up to cover additional shifts when required.
His support has helped maintain continuity on site and build a strong working relationship with the client team.
