NJC has extensive experience of all types of systems and access methods utilised in Window Cleaning.
We have mature relationships with all manufacturers, suppliers, consultants and advisors and this affords us ready access to experience, knowledge and intellect, with regard to the efficient and effective use of mechanical aids.
Building Maintenance Units (BMUs)
Building Maintenance Units, also referred to as Cradles, provide access to many buildings that require maintenance and window cleaning services. BMUs can be external, internal, permanent or mobile units and require site specific training which is provided by the maintenance company that has the servicing contract on the systems. BMUs are the safest and most complete form of suspended access system, providing full lateral, horizontal and vertical movement of the working platform.
All our operatives are specifically trained per site, per BMU, and currently use a wide selection on various buildings throughout London and the South East. NJC is fully insured and has a vast amount of experience and will ensure all paperwork and RAMS are provided prior to carrying out any commercial window cleaning activity.
Mobile Elevated Working Platforms (MEWPs)
In certain situations, we may need to use a Mobile Elevated Working Platform to gain access. NJC operatives are trained and certified for a whole range of access platforms, from specialist compact machines that will fit through a single doorway, to large hydraulic truck mounts. Whichever piece of equipment is required, all of our operatives will have been trained by an approved IPAF training centre and carry their PAL (Powered Access License) Card at all times.
We have access to a wide range of machinery that suits most budgets, and can tackle a range of high level cleaning situations. All MEWPs are available to us on a hire only basis, from reputable suppliers with whom we have negotiated competitive rates. Prior to starting any work we will carry out a survey to ensure that the most suitable and cost effective machine is used. We have extensive experience of working with Local Authorities and other statutory bodies should road closures be required.
The main objective with rope access, as with any other working at height activity, is to plan, manage and carry out the work with no accidents, incidents or dangerous occurrences. Safe systems of work must be maintained at all times to ensure no damage to property or harm to persons or the environment.
Due to the versatility of rope access, also known as abseiling, there are very few places on a building that cannot be reached, and it often offers a significant cost reduction compared to more traditional forms of access. NJC’s services allow your projects to be delivered on time and within budget and include rope access window cleaning, cladding cleaning, deep cleaning, construction, inspections and repair.
Each of our projects is afforded the ‘Safe and Best Practice’ approach, ensuring all work is carried out to the highest safety standards.
Benefits of Rope Access:
- Provides an unobtrusive, cost effective access solution
- Can be used to reach almost all areas of a building
- Reduced hours working at height compared with traditional access methods
- Equipment used is installed and uninstalled rapidly, minimising disruption
- Reduces overall lead time on projects, which reduces project costs
- Other trades can continue their work without disruption at ground level, unlike other access methods, such as scaffolding
- Offers greater flexibility for rescheduling, if needed due to weather conditions
Reach and Wash
We specialise in the use of Pure Waterfed Pole Systems, which allow our operatives to remain on the ground, whilst giving us access to windows up to 80 feet high. Each of our vans is fitted with a system that provides between 800 and 1000 litres of 100% purified water. Our reach and wash systems are heated as hot ultra-pure water is less dense and so absorbs dirt more readily, and dries more quickly to an incredible finish.
The advantages of our reach and wash system far outweigh any previous cleaning methods and have the additional benefit of being chemical free. The vertical surfaces are washed using carbon fibre poles that will feed 100% pure hot water onto the surface leaving it clean and smear free, making this a safe and environmentally friendly choice. There are also no Health and Safety risks, making it, by far the safest and most cost-effective cleaning method with proven excellent results.
Benefits of Reach and Wash:
- Cleans up to 80 feet (8 floors) with a new lightweight pole, reaching previously inaccessible windows with ease
- Cleans windows, UPVC, facades, glass roofs, panelling and cladding
- Operators work from the safety of the ground, eliminating the need for ladders, cherry pickers and cradles on 95% of buildings
- Environmentally friendly, chemical free
- Maintains privacy and reduces disturbance
- Cost effective
