Social value is a key part of our corporate social responsibility and our ESG commitments. That’s why we’re committed to making a positive contribution at a local, regional and national level – and directly through our supply chain – where we have the most influence and the most impact.
Yes, it’s about supporting charities, schools, and communities, but it’s also about creating fair and equal opportunities for people, including from minority groups or poor socio-economic backgrounds. To this end, we support people back into work and to thrive by providing employment, training, and apprenticeship opportunities.
We encourage our staff to “give back” to their communities by giving them each a day off work to support a charity of their choice. Each year, this results in over 4,000 hours of charity work.
We also pay a lot of attention to mental health and well-being too – whether through our support for mental health charities, or through promoting awareness of mental health and well-being issues inside and outside the business.
