Environmental, social and corporate governance is a widely used framework in businesses to understand how companies can add social value to people and local communities, whilst protecting the planet. Our environmental, social and governance strategy is a perfect example of the E for excellence within our core values as a business, the aim to go above and beyond as best practice to support local communities, charities and safeguard the environment.
To support our Environmental Social Governance (ESG) strategy we have created NJC’s Giving Back Policy by providing staff with the potential to have a paid giving back day, which means one day of leave from work annually to support charitable endeavours that either fall under NJC’s selected registered charities, staff’s own chosen registered charities that meet agreed ESG values, or one of NJC’s client charities. This is a core part of our social values to provide staff the opportunity to become an integral part of our strategy and as we recognise we are powered by our people and that we cannot achieve our sustainability goals without our staff, we wish them to share in our sustainability journey. This also supports our customers social strategies.
